🛠️ Why is this not free yet?
This project requires a significant amount of development, and we appreciate your patience. We're working hard to deliver a high-quality experience, and while it's taking longer than expected, we're committed to getting it right.
💳 Do I need a Hyperbeam subscription?
No, you do not need to purchase a separate Hyperbeam subscription to use this integration.
🎮 Is Quest supported?
Quest-native users cannot run our desktop controller app, but they can view the video stream.
However, due to a current bug in VRChat’s URL handling, Quest users may only see the video if two links are placed in the media player simultaneously.
If you're using Quest only, you’ll need to either:
Have a friend on PC set up the room.
Prepare the room using a PC, laptop, or compatible phone ahead of time.
🔐 Who can control a room?
Anyone in the world can control the virtual web browser if the host grants them permission.
By default, all new users do not have control permissions must be enabled manually by the host.
🕹️ How do you control the web browser?
Make sure you're using the beta version of Hyperbeam (linked in the pinned message in the supporter chat).
In world control is supported in LS Media and Noodle Theater while running the Hyperbeam desktop application.
You can also use overlays like XSOverlay or OVR Toolkit to interact directly with the application.
Control permissions can be shared with others in the instance only the host needs to run the app.
🌐 Which subscription tier gives access to the web browser?
Any subscription tier grants access to the web browser feature.
🔐 Does this use my normal Hyperbeam login?
No this system uses a separate database, so you'll need to create a new account specifically for the beta version.
🌍 What can it do? Where can it go?
Since Hyperbeam is a full-featured web browser, it can do almost anything a standard browser can but in a shared, multiplayer VR setting. Watch videos, browse sites, and explore the web with your friends in real time.
